Nesting... did you do it?
January 6th, 2009I got husband out gardening and spent the day inside cleaning cupboards, vacuuming (even UNDER everything), washed all baby clothes ready, made up the cradle, packed baby bag for hospital, baked cookies with my toddler - and I did not even have my usual afternoon sleep.
I can't remember getting like this with my other pregnancies.
Would you call this "nesting"?
Did you "nest"? If so, how long after did you have your baby?
I nested very early in pregnancy. Both times. It all had to be organised.
With my last pregnancy we moved house, and oh I nearly had a break down. Seriously all these boxes, rubbish. ARRRRR!!!
My house was unpacked within 2 days.
I actually pulled the entire fridge apart and cleaned it top to bottom.. that took hours.
My nesting came at a good time actually because we had just moved into our house and I was able to pack everything away nicely and get back on everything on track. (i know... we moved a week before my due date, I dont recommend it )
I had read/heard that you start your 'nesting' a day or two before you go into labour so I was waiting for my labour to start.
Best of luck. But I'd say by now you pretty much know what you are doing :)
Which was a laugh ... my hubby actually said, out loud, at our Lamaze class, that "the day my wife goes on a cleaning spree is the day I think I came home to the wrong house!" Honest, I HATE cleaning.
But I tore apart the range and cleaned it ... scrubbed every floor and vacuumed every carpet ... cleaned both bathrooms top-to-bottom, reorganized all the kitchen cabinets ... then made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and gravy, all from scratch. I did all that in a single afternoon.
I was in labor before midnight and my daughter was born the next afternoon!
I started nesting around the time I went into labor. It was really funny, because at that time, I really didn't have the energy to clean anything. Then one day BAM! I had the whole house clean in two hours (looked like cleaning ladies came in after I was done lol.)
