How do you store your child's bath tub toys?

January 6th, 2009
  • I need your idea's on how to store my 2 year old's bath tub toys? Any idea's/suggestions are much appreciated. They are all over the bath room and most of the time just left on the bottom of the tub. It is driving me nuts!

    Thanks in advance

  • I use a plastic basket, the basket weave lets water drain out, and keeps them all in one place.
The squeezy ones that have the holes in them like his rubber duckie and nemo fish sometimes stay full of water, and can get mold growing inside, so I squeeze all the water out, and once a week sort of squeeze/suck up some bleach water to kill mold & germs.

  • I have a stick up frog made by Boon which holds the toys and has a shelf for all the shampoo, soap, bubbles, etc. It's a more expensive than a simple net, but I love it.

The frog's abdomen is a scoop with holes that drains the water so you don't have to pick all the toys out of the tub every tub. You just scoop them up. The water drains out of the holes. And you hang them up on the wall.

You can attach it by the suction cups, adhesive strips or screws. We have an apartment and use the suction cups. If you follow the directions about cleaning the wall and sticking it on when the wall is completely dry, it never falls off.

  • We use this and LOVE it!! It's cute and functional.

  • I bought on of those net things that hold toys in corners. We use that - the water drips out and the toys actually get dry and they are up and out of the way inthe corner of the shower.

  • You can get a bath toy bag at Walmart or Kmart and it has suction cups to hang on the shower wall.

Or you can just get a small mesh linen bag at a dollar store and hang it over your faucets.

I have used some utility baskets but had to make holes in the bottom so the water can drain out.

    Good Luck !

  • They make this big holder that scoops the toys up and you can suction it to the wall when you done. It's usually in the shape of a fish or a frog, so it's cute and useful.

  • I have a plant holder in the bathroom and I put some of his toys in a bucket on one of the shelves. ALL the other toys are hanging in a mesh net that is suction cupped to the shower wall.

  • observe your child, when he is bathing and playing with his bath toys...

chances are, hes not playing with all of them.

the next time he takes a bath, remove some of the toys he does not play with. if he has 15 toys in the tub, leave only 4 toys for his next bath. store the rest where he wont know.

then, if you notice that he's losing interest with those 4 toys, give him another set of 4 toys and keep the ones hes lost interest with.

its all a matter of rotation. kids these days easily lose interest with their toys.

now, if you want to organize his bath toys, have hooks on your bath room wall where his toys can drip dry. you might wana get those plastic hooks with suction cups for that.

it will also be an opportunity for you to teach your child to organize his toys after he takes a bath. start them young, it will become a good habit

    take care
